Mid Autumn Moon Lantern Pavilion

Darren Kong Architects are excited to share our latest project with Haymarket Institute – A Mid-autumn pavilion for Haymarket.

This pavilion celebrates the diversity of the mid-autumn festival among different cultures.

The pavilion is designed to be sustainable and reusable, using environmentally friendly materials to reduce waste and respect the land of the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation (Eora meaning ‘here’ or ‘from this place’)

“Mid-Autumn Festival is not just a time to admire the beauty of the full moon, but also a time to cherish the warmth of family and friends, and to reflect on the blessings and abundance of life.”

We believe in designing spaces that contribute to a better world. The pavilion is a symbol of unity and inclusivity, promoting a more sustainable and resilient future which relates to the meaning of the full moon, the importance of family and gathering.
